Mooresville, N.C. - The roar of Talladega Superspeedway has always sounded a little different for Bret Holmes. For the Munford, Alabama native, the 2.66-mile oval isn’t just another racetrack; it’s home. Now this weekend, Holmes’ homecoming carries special weight as he returns to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, teaming up with TRICON Garage to pilot the No. 1 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro in the Love’s RV Stops 225.

The 28-year-old is well known for his 2020 ARCA Menards Series championship with his own funded team, Bret Holmes Racing. Holmes has also made 56 Truck Series starts since 2021, collecting two top 5s and three top 10s across those starts, with his best career finish resulting in a third-place run at Talladega in 2022.

That finish was marred by controversy, as Holmes was leading when the final caution of the race was thrown, but due to the timing of when the caution was issued, Matt DiBenedetto was granted his first NASCAR national series victory, along with the first for Rackley W.A.R.

This race marks the first time in over a year that Holmes will compete in the Truck Series. His team had ceased operations near the end of 2024, selling its assets to Hettinger Racing, a team that participates in the zMAX CARS Tour. Hettinger Racing contested the final two Truck Series events of the year, with Brett Moffitt driving at Martinsville Speedway and during the season finale at Phoenix Raceway.

Holmes joins a talented TRICON Garage roster that includes Corey Heim, Tanner Gray, Gio Ruggiero, and Toni Breidinger to work around for the 85-lap showing. The No. 1 truck he’ll drive has seen several wheelmen this year, ranging from William Sawalich and Brandon Jones to Trevor Bayne and Brent Crews. But this weekend, it belongs to Holmes.

The Love’s RV Travel Stops 225 at Talladega Superspeedway will air live on Friday, October 17, at 4:00 p.m. ET on FS1. Radio coverage can be found on The NASCAR Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.
