NASCAR Announces Full 2027 Season Schedule

Charlotte, NC- As the 2026 NASCAR season heads toward its championship stretch, NASCAR has officially released the 2027 schedules for the Cup Series, O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and Craftsman Truck Series, featuring several notable changes across all three national series.
The 2027 schedule continues NASCAR's recent effort to balance tradition with innovation, bringing back several historic venues and familiar events while continuing to experiment with street courses, military installations and international racing.
One of the most notable changes will come before the regular season even begins, as The Clash returns home to Daytona International Speedway. After traveling to venues across the country in recent years, NASCAR's preseason exhibition race will return to the World Center of Racing on February 13th, once again making Daytona the starting point for the sport's annual Speedweeks festivities.
Iowa Speedway will also take on an interesting position on the calendar, hosting the Cup Series during the Fourth of July weekend. The July 4th event will mark the halfway point of the 2027 Cup Series regular season.
The Craftsman Truck Series will also continue to expand its schedule with a number of unique venues. The series will return to the Streets of St. Petersburg, bringing NASCAR stock car racing back to the Florida street course.
Another major addition to the Truck Series schedule will be Bowman Gray Stadium. This will be the debut of this track for the Craftsman Truck Series. Bowman Gray returned to the NASCAR Cup schedule in 2025 when it hosted the preseason Clash.
The Truck Series will also head north of the border in 2027, with a race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Ontario, Canada. The event will give the series an international stop and adds another road course to a schedule that continues to showcase a wide variety of track types.
Rockingham Speedway will not return to the schedule in 2027. After returning to the series just two years, it is a notable omission as the schedule is released for next year.
After being used for the All-Star Race in 2026, Dover Motor Speedway will return to the schedule as a host for a regular season points race on May 16th.
The Chase Schedule
The biggest changes to the 2027 schedule, however, may come during the Cup Series championship battle.
Richmond Raceway will return to the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs for the first time since 2021, hosting the opening race of the 10 race postseason on September 11th.
The move comes after Darlington Raceway takes on a new role in the 2027 schedule. The historic Southern 500 will serve as the regular season finale on Labor Day weekend, with the September 5th event determining which 16 drivers will advance to the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs.
The move gives Darlington's already prestigious Southern 500 an additional importance. Drivers will not only be competing for one of NASCAR's crown jewels, but also fighting to secure its place in the championship battle.
The 2027 postseason will also bring a road course back into the championship picture.
Following the removal of the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval from the Cup Series schedule, the 2026 playoffs did not feature a road course. NASCAR will change that in 2027, with Watkins Glen International joining the postseason schedule on September 19th, giving teams another opportunity to navigate the unique challenges of road course racing with a championship on the line.
The 2027 NASCAR season will once again conclude in South Florida, as Homestead-Miami Speedway will remain the host of Championship Weekend on November 12th -14th.
With a mixture of returning traditions, new venues and a significantly different playoff landscape, the 2027 NASCAR schedule offers plenty for fans to look forward to.
