Charlotte, NC - After a lengthy rain delay — 4 hours and 21 minutes to be exact — drivers were finally given the nod to fire engines Saturday night for the Charbroil 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Prior to the rain delay, the first caution of the race was out on Lap 2. Harrison Burton spun after making contact with the No. 2 of Jesse Love off of Turn 3.

Justin Allgaier led the field back to green after the delay, alongside him was Connor Zilisch.

Connor Zilisch won Stage 1 after Justin Allgaier’s No. 7 Chevrolet got loose, opening the door for Zilisch to steal the stage win from his JR Motorsports teammate.

The caution came out again on Lap 52. Brent Crews, Brandon Jones, and Harrison Burton all spun out on the backstretch. This would result in all 3 drivers having too much damage to return to the race.

Caution lights came on again on Lap 61. Sam Mayer got loose and hit the wall, destroying his racecar.

Lap 73 brings out another caution. A handful of cars got up the racetrack and into the wall. Ross Chastain reported there was oil on the track over his radio.

After another red flag due to rain and fog, Ross Chastain was declared the winner since the race reached the halfway point and was declared official. This is the first O’Reilly series win for Chastain since Daytona in July of 2019.
