Watkins Glen, NY - The NASCAR Cup series headed back east Sunday afternoon for the Go Bowling at The Glen at Watkins Glen International. Shane van Gisbergen, the road-course savant, led the field to the green flag, with Michael McDowell in his No. 71 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet alongside him.
Stage 1 ran caution free with Ross Chastain picking up a much needed Stage win. Joey Logano also collected valuable stage points.
The first caution of the day came out on lap 39 after what appeared to be a tent canopy, flew onto the track. Which is not the usual suspect for a caution.
Shane van Gisbergen would capture the green-white checkered in Stage 2 after quite a hectic restart.
Joey Logano brought out another caution on lap 61. Logano suffered a flat tire which brought debris onto the track. What was looking like a much needed good points day, the 22 team continued to struggle.
After an incredible charge through the field, Shane van Gisbergen would secure his first win of the 2026 season. The No. 97 team took fresh tires on lap 76 and SVG never looked back and made the pass on Ty Gibbs and captured Trackhouse’ first victory of the 2026 season. This was a much needed day for Trackhouse Racing as things seem to finally be clicking for this team.
