Corey Day to Make Cup Series Debut in 2027 with a Long Term Contract Extension with Hendrick Motorsports

Charlotte, NC- Rick Hendrick announces that Corey Day has signed a long-term contract extension to stay with Hendrick Motorsports. Day will continue to pilot the No. 17 for the team in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series in 2027.
Jeff Gordon, Vice Chairman of Hendrick Motorsports, spoke during the announcement stating “There’s no substitute for seat time, which makes Corey’s progress even more impressive.”
Corey Day will also make his Cup Series debut in 2027 as he is set to run a limited schedule throughout the season. The number of races and specifics of the schedule are set to come at a later date.
Day is currently in contention for the championship in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series as he began The Chase in the seventh seed following two wins in his first full-time season in the series. He is currently fifth in points.
